At Monte Barrão, our two-year-old Lusitanos spend their days in the fields, surrounded by other young horses, with the freedom to explore, play, and develop naturally.
They know us well. When we enter the field, many come over out of curiosity, looking for a gentle touch or simply a little attention. They are also beginning to learn basic handling, including giving their hands and feet, always with patience and respect.
No two are alike. Each has their own character, their own way of approaching the world, and their own little details that make them special.
We believe these early years matter. They are a time to grow, build confidence, develop social skills, and establish the foundations for a positive relationship with people.
Now, these young Lusitanos are ready to meet the people who will appreciate them for who they are and see the possibilities of what they may become.
