 Three-Year-Old Lusitanos: The Beginning of Their Training

 At three years old, a new chapter begins for our Lusitanos.

 After growing up in the fields at Monte Barrão, our young horses came in from the fields on 22 July 2026 to begin the next stage of their lives. Before starting their work, they had their X-rays taken, and all three are Piro negative.

 Their training starts gradually, with time to become familiar with new experiences. They are learning to lunge, becoming accustomed to the saddle on their backs and learning everyday handling skills, including giving their hands and feet.

 These first steps are an important part of their development. We want each horse to have the opportunity to learn at its own pace, building familiarity and confidence as it discovers what is being asked of it.

Young Lusitanos, Ready for Their Next Chapter

 Every horse brings something different. Their conformation, movement, bloodlines and individual personalities all contribute to the possibilities ahead.

 At this stage, they are still young horses with much to learn. Rather than presenting them as finished products, we see them as individuals at the beginning of their education, with room to develop and qualities yet to emerge.

 Whether your interest is dressage, working equitation or another kind of partnership, a three-year-old Lusitano offers the opportunity to become involved in the horse's development from an early stage.
