The Next Generation at Monte Barrão

Each foal is the beginning of a new story at Monte Barrão.

Born and raised at our stud farm in Portugal, our young Lusitanos spend their early months alongside their mothers and other horses, discovering their surroundings and gradually developing their own personalities.

Spend a little time watching them and you will begin to notice the differences. Some are curious and quick to investigate something new, while others prefer to observe before coming closer. Each foal has its own character, and getting to know these differences is part of the pleasure of breeding horses.

Young Lusitanos, Each with Their Own Character

Our weanlings represent the next generation of Monte Barrão Lusitanos. Their pedigrees, conformation and movement offer an insight into their origins, while their individual qualities will continue to develop as they grow.

Choosing a weanling means looking towards the future. There is still time for the horse to mature, for its character to become more apparent and for its qualities to emerge. Its eventual path will depend on its development, education and the partnership it finds.

Whether you are interested in dressage, working equitation or another future partnership, our young Lusitanos offer the opportunity to follow a horse's journey from an early age.
