Foal Identification Day

At approximately six months of age, each foal undergoes the official registration and identification process. This stage includes a comprehensive morphological evaluation and detailed sketch, permanently documenting all markings, coat characteristics, and distinguishing features.

The identification protocol also involves blood sampling for genetic parentage verification, administration of the required vaccinations, and electronic identification through the implantation of a certified microchip.

This process is fundamental to ensuring accurate traceability and enables the formal integration of each young Lusitano into the official studbook, in full compliance with regulatory standards and with complete transparency.
